SMILE WHILE THE SUN SHINES Smile while the sun shines Tomorrow may rain Love while the heart sings While it knows no pain Life is a dream, a finite aside Someday it will be a flash Before our eyes So, Smile while the sun shines Tomorrow may rain Love while the heart sings While it knows no pain Seeking beauty, seeking truth Finding wisdom in the innocence of youth Smile while the sun shines Tomorrow may rain Love while the heart sings While it knows no pain (c) Bob Westfall. 2014. Moment 02:28
MOMENT A gentle wind is blowin' in off the water The sun's coming up above the mountain I just got everything I've always wanted And boy, let me tell ya, it's a great day to be alive. There's no better place to be than up in the country Where the bright city lights don't hide the stars Nothing makes me happier than a midnight fire on Jack's beach Remember when those northern lights were dancin' Green Lake in the summertime is amazing I die and go to heaven every morning It's a feeling to which no words can do justice It's everything good and pure if you let it be I sit among the trees and sing my songs Letting the wind carry them across the sky I wish I could stay right here forever But every moment is a moment out of my control. LOVE WILL LIVE FOREVER Ain't gonna live forever May not live long So I'm gonna make the most of my life Before I'm gone I've going to open my eyes wide To the beauty around me Feel a natural mystic inside Let love surround me All I'm gonna do is smile Does no good to frown I'm gonna spread happy feelings Inspiration all around Pass it on to a neighbor Pass it on to a friend Pass it on as a favor Let it grow, and then Love will live forever Love will live long Carried by children As through their lives they travel on. FEEL YOUR SPIRIT SHINE Leave the city and drive Leave the city behind. Hit the road and don't look back Hit the road and leave no track. Find your way up to the country Where the air smells sweet as honey. Get a little dust on your boots Get a little dust on your ramblin' boots When you're digging up your ramblin' roots. Feel your spirit shine With stillness of heart and peace of mind. (c) Bob Westfall. 2014. Moonlight Poet Music.

LITTLE HORSE NIGHTS I remember the Little Horse Nights Singing Good Hearted Woman with Jack Sean, Rick, and Mile Boe Drinking in the back Old Frank, he left us too soon God rest his soul He sure could play that bass guitar He had a heart of gold Sweet Ellie and her German smile Packed up and moved away She's lovely and bright as a flower in spring I'll see her again someday Those good ol' Little Horse nights Friends and family 'round the table Harmonizing in time with the rhymes Of ragged angels I remember Little Horse nights Under a blanket of stars Heaven could hear the sound of Chicken pickin' guitars Of course, I wanna thank my parents For driving so many miles Thank you for the memories And all the smiles Little Horse, Little Horse I see it all so clear Little Horse, Little Horse Memories I hold so dear. EVERYTHING WORTH WHILE BEGINS WITH A DREAM Where the mountains meet the sky We'll spread our wings and fly Up, up, and away We won't even say goodbye We'll just leave the world behind Feel nothing but fine See you on the other side When you realize it's time To get back to the old days Silver and gold days To the time when freedom was real Back to the old days Silver and gold days When Mother Nature was there for you to feel. Where the ego disappears You will find us here Kickin' back with a bowl of green And a six pack of beer Our pockets will be empty and our Thoughts will be clear Our sound will be sacred and our Silence sincere Back to the old days Silver and gold days To the place where wild flowers bloom Back to the old days Silver and gold days Into a beautiful sky of blue Everything worth while begins with a dream, my friend Everything worth while begins with a dream. BOY WITH THE STARS IN HIS EYES See the boy with the stars in his eyes Over-joyed, gazing far into the sky Nature's child Dreaming of deep blue oceans He's in love with that sweet breeze blowing Spirit's wild Smile child, your heart is full of light The future's yours and it's oh so bright Climb upon a rainbow, kiss the golden sun Paradise, the state of mind to keep the spirit young And oh, what a joy it is to be young. Follow your heart, keep on dreaming Always start with believing Dreams come true Facing the far, wide open sky Don't let the stars fall from your eyes Let them be a part of you Smile child, your heart is full of light The future's yours and it's oh so bright Climb upon a rainbow, kiss the golden sun Paradise, the state of mind to keep the spirit young And oh, what a joy it is to be young. THE HEART OF A CHILD IN YOU Well, friend, you know Days used to move slow We were kids who couldn't wait to grow But now we're growing old Used to want to be Jesse James Clint Eastwood, the man with no name An outlaw on the trail to wealth and fame Riding through the desert on a horse with a jet black mane The heart of a child is pure and true In his dreams there's nothing he can't do He's a bird in the sky, he's the man on the moon He's a cloud floating by on a sunny afternoon Sometimes the world will bring you down Friend, don't let it steal your crown You'll always have the heart of a child in you. Here we sit wondering why Time flies as it goes by See the age in our eyes Let's drink a toast to the good times The heart of a child is pure and true In his dreams there's nothing he can't do He's a bird in the sky, he's the man on the moon He's a cloud floating by on a sunny afternoon Sometimes the world will bring you down Friend, don't let it steal your crown You'll always have the heart of a child in you. A FATHER'S HEART A father's heart is strong A father's heart is true In times of uncertainty It knows just what to do A father's heart radiates Love upon his son His child's heart is humbled To be the lucky one (c) Bob Westfall. 2014. Moonlight Poet Music.

THE LOVE OF A MOTHER The love of a mother is the strongest love of all It stands firm as a mountain, will never crumble or fall It weighs more than silver, more than lead, more than steel It's worth more than gold and I swear it's twice as pure The love of a mother brings the birth of a world The joy and the pain that endlessly unfurls When the weight of the world starts taking its toll She is there to care and to lighten the load And all I want to say to you, dear mother, is I love you. A mountain might get lonely and an angel's tear might fall The roses all wilt when Cinderella must miss the ball The years keep on coming and the skin ain't quite as soft Oh, dear mother, life is such a cost Oh mother, if you believe in the Lord Home ain't where you've been. It's where you're sure to go When your soul is safe in Heaven high above With amazing grace you will fly with the doves in peace And all I want to say to you, dear mother, is I love you. I love you. (c) Bob Westfall. 2014. Moonlight Poet Music.

MY LOVE & I My love and I watch the sun go down In the sky of this beautiful Canadian town I must say it's good to be in love With someone who loves me My love and I It's my love and I... Let the world pass by my love and I. My love and I watch the world go round My guitar, her voice, the only sound We sing songs of love beneath twilight skies My love and I It's my love and I... Let the world pass by my love and I. (c) Bob Westfall. 2014. Moonlight Poet Music.

TIME HURRIES ON Day begins with the rustling of leaves in the wind Hey Mr. Tambourine man, pass the bottle of gin Wander down the overgrown gravel road Take a trip down memory lane All those years ago, sure looks different now, ya know But the feeling is almost the same. Night comes on strong and fills the sky with diamonds It's a milky way buffet, reach right up and try one It's all I can do to find a chair. I just sit and stare At a billion stars burning bright My mind is blown so beautifully, so truthfully I retire to the firelight. (c) Bob Westfall. 2014. Moonlight Poet Music.

Old Friend 02:39
OLD FRIEND I will always remember the good times we've had I dust off the memories whenever I feel bad I always will cherish the good days gone by With moments so sweet, I almost could cry Old friend I want to thank you Old friend I want to thank you again For helping to make my life what it's been Old friend I want to thank you again. The photos have faded, the edges are torn The album sits proud like an old coat well worn And yet I've seen through the passage of time Each image remain crystal clear in my mind Old friend I want to thank you Old friend I want to thank you again For helping to make my life what it's been Old friend I want to thank you again. Green Lake 06:18
GREEN LAKE Everybody's hoping for a moment in the sun Expecting to lose themselves when the summer comes The city is too busy to see their souls become Unwound and released and re-loved and undone Get away, they've got to get away. A never ending sunset with mornings in baby blue Cotton candy clouds float by and wave hello to you Time itself is off the clock with nothing else to do But sit back, light up, and take in the view Come stay, pack up and come stay. Country life's the life for me. It's here my mind is free To understand the wind and be one with the trees The distant tune of midnight's moon is coming in on a breeze To harmonize nature's rhyme puts my spirit at ease Green Lake, you'll love it at Green Lake Green Lake, my heart is at Green Lake. about

The Green Lake Album is the album that most truly reflects who I am and how I feel about life, family, friends, nature, spirituality, and my favorite place in the whole world - Green Lake.

The album consists of 14 original songs inspired by what is mentioned above, as well as memories, beauty, joy, happiness, positivity, passion, tranquility, peacefulness, etc. There's a song that I wrote for my mom on Mother's Day - called The Love Of A Mother. There's a song written for my dad called A Father's Heart. There's a song about the nights we used to spend picking and singing our hearts out at The Little Horse Lodge with the lovely Ellie as our hostess. There's a song about old friends and the people who have helped make me who I am. And there are plenty more songs with meaningful topics and messages. I recommend putting it on your stereo, sitting back, and taking in the beauty when you have nothing else to do but just Be (preferably with a drink in one hand and some bojingles in the other).

As with all of my albums, this one was recorded and mixed by myself in a less than professional setting. This specific album was made in my grandmother's tiny bedroom in her old house in Burnaby, BC. Therefore, my albums have a homegrown and homemade sound, and some people may say a less than professional quality. I understand, but it's alright with me. With each album I make, I get better at the mixing process. So I will continue to improve as time goes on. (But hey, don't get me wrong - If you're an award winning producer and you say you want to take care of the recording and mixing process for my art, give me a call and let's pull a cork and hit some lairbs !!!)

Overall, The Green Lake Album is a fine work of art that will age gracefully (hopefully not in the bargain bin of a second hand shop in East Vancouver). I recommend checking out the many music videos that I've produced for songs on this album and others. You can see them here on the website:

Enjoy the tunes, and I thank you for listening!
